My .02 cents

In building up my 2000 Camaro SS. Since sold.

It had all the bolt ons. CAI, Long Tubes, MAF, Pulley.....etc etc. Ran pretty good just under 13 et 108 mph. With this old fart shifting a 6 speed.

But when I went to 4.10s . Whoa! Big difference in seat of pants and et. Just can't recall what it was. I'm old lol.

So if I was going to buy one part to improve et.

Lower gears!!

Your mileage/ET may vary

Unfortunately, I don't recall doing a baseline test, but I did do:
14' sport, 4x4, quad, all options, COI (not veriram), TB, LT headers, tstat, Greene tune, and got 13.7.
Then I added 150 shot of No2, and got 12.9. I'm not at the track often, and I believe that could get better... but for now, that's what the slip says.
So, best answer, is 0.8 gain for 150shot. AND, for the record, I've gone through many 15lb bottles, and so far, the stock internals have held the 150 with no problem.

Somethings up with your nitrous then,as my truck gains almost a full second on a 75 shot. Off the bottle my truck runs 13.3's,on a 75 shot it runs 12.3's on a 100 shot it runs 12.02's,at 3500+ft DA .

The 8 speed has a stump pulling 4.71:1 first gear,so there's not as big a differance with it,when you go to 3.92's.Some of the fastest trucks out there are running 3.21 gears.

Trans tuning helps raising rev limit but I have no data to support that.

Why??? If you want a dragster by a hellcat... stock 5.7’s are constantly being ******* about on this forum for weak lifters and cams... now tune it and pump nitrous into an engine that is not designed for it... laughable! Keep your money in your pocket and save up for a hell cat. CAI, waste of money, from your pocket to the guy harping about it on here.... stock sucks cold air from the fender well... CAI’s suck hot air from the engine compartment. 6.4’s have a intake right up front under the hood no need for one there ever.

I'll buy a 5.7 over the hellcat everyday. I can have a fast more reliable car for cheaper. Most Cai do suck hot air. The vararam however does not and has proven gains. Nos is perfectly fine with a good tune and not a huge shot.
