So looking through my owners manual maintenance schedule and my 2014 ram 1500 maintenance chart and schedule says do not exceed 10000 mile oil changes. Has anyone else noticed this or would you recommend following this? My wife's kia gets serviced at the dealership and her changes are every 7000. if this is possible I love my new ram!

10,000mi or 1 year. "Do Not Exceed" is the extreme. Doesn't mean you couldn't, or shouldn't, change it earlier. I did my first change at 4K miles with 48% showing on the oil monitor.

Depending on how your driving the oil monitor will probably tell you to change it much sooner than 10K.

It depends on the oil and filter used. Some oils will exceed 10,000 miles. Most filters are not rated for that long. I know K&N filters are rated or were rated at 10,000 miles and Mobil 1 Extended Performance is rated for 15,000. Doesn't mean I would ever run either that far. I change the oil in my vehicles at 5,000 max. Typically around 4k.

factory oil intervals are fine. theres no way they would set your oil to run completely out of life.

changing your oil, at 4-5k miles when it is recommended for 10k is a waste of $ I think.

I only do it that early when its a new engine.

I did my first change at about 4k miles. ill do it at 10k miles then at 20k miles.

Just use good quality oil.
