New to forum, I have a 2020 power wagon and I'm experiencing a new issue with my 12 inch display. It went totally black. I've tried the reset where I hold pwr and tune buttons for 30 seconds with ign in run position, power down, open door till dash lights go out, shut door and restart no luck. First issue I've had since engine replacement a little over 3k ago. Any ideas?
I noticed it this a.m. when I tried to leave quickly for fire call (fd volunteer) and my door wasn't shut fully and it didn't want to go till I shut door. No display, can't get to set steering wheel heat, no backup camera, nada!

Try disconnecting the battery for about 30 minutes and during that time turn on a lot of electrical to discharge everything. Then reconnect battery and a few on, off, drive cycles should reset it. Why it happened, no idea.

after disconnecting the Negative Post of the Battery
Leaving the Ignition On, Headlights On, the Door Open & the A/C Fan on High
should drain any Electric charge quickly

what was the last thing that you did to your truck, under the hood or dash board or playing with any lights

I was grasping for what I could do, and I finally put battery on low charge for a few hours, and was able to reset with radio pwr/tune knobs. Thanks!

Our 1500 Classic won't go anywhere if the door is ajar. If you put it in drive and let off the brake it automatically shifts to park.

I had the problem for 2 years on a 2022 2500 Limited Longhorn. Dealer could not recreate the intermittent issue, although they replaced the entire radio system once as they detected a fault. But it did not solve the issue. When the truck sat for awhile and was restarted, sometimes the screen would come back. Never failed when running. I finally got to a dealer tech foreman who disconnected both the positive and negative battery cable and then touched them together. Apparently it reboots everything. I also read about the iOS Apple system and some reported problems. So I disconnected a Samsung A24 phone so it would not communicate with the RAM Panasonic radio system. I have had no recurring issue for 2 months. Foreman said they know there is a Panasonic system problem but Stellantis has not provided a fix as yet. Eventually I will reconnect the Bluetooth connection with the phone, and see if the problem reoccurs. Then it is the phone. Otherwise the reset may have solved the problem. Hope that helps.

That only happens if you have the dial shifter. If you have the classic column mount, it just dings as you drive.

Just a side note:

Apple Phones & Chrysler/FCA/ Stellantis Radios have a conflict.
This has been going on for years.

Apple believes their software is made of solid pure gold
Apple comes out with a new phone every time they figure out new Software, which is about every 6 months.

Chrysler/FCA/ Stellantis come out once a year
Customers are still driving their affordable vehicle from 10 years ago

When Apple comes out with New Software, They Do NOT make that software Backward Compatible.

So often that new software will not work with a 4 year old Chrysler/FCA/ Stellantis vehicle.

When Apple Users buy a new Apple Phone, it often will Not work with that old vehicle.

So UNTIL Apple users complain in Numbers, Apple will not modify that new software to work with , say a 2018 Ram, for instance

If you don't think that happens, check over on a Apple site where the Phone owners have older vehicles

When I was in tech school in the 90’s. They taught us to remove bat cables & hold together for 10-15sec’s & that was to draw all power out of ecm. I’m still doing it that way. Also the dodge vehicles that had a trip button . You can hold down trip reset button & turn key to on (not run) just on. And it goes though codes & clears ecm. Where the mileage shows. Not sure this applies to the new stuff. But I’ve done this on my 04 ram before
