This is a question for people who have used or have experience with AlphaOBD:

I have a 15 1500 Laramie and recently put in HIDs for both low and high beams. I picked up pairs off HIDnation. Without any modifications to the BCU, nothing would work when I would turn the lights on. I would only see the stock parking lights on.

I went in with AlfaOBD and changed HID headlamps and both CBC low and high LED lights to yes.

The lows work flawlessly now, but the highs will go off almost instantaneously. I tried to mess with the above setting and tried a few different options but still get the same light outage on my dash.

I only have the ballasts plugged in with the lights.

Anyone use AlfaOBD and/or have options that have worked for them I can try?

Check these settings

Some times the fog light drop out will effect high beam function.

I tried those settings, with the BiXenon and fogs dropout enabled, it makes the lows a bit brighter, still get the high beam outage. I also tried each with the other disabled also.

The errors I get are B1632 and B1636.

Any other suggestions? Is there a harness I can get that would help?

I've never attempted HID bulbs in the high beam location. I used LED instead to closely mimic the stock configuration. You might actually need a separate harness just for high beams. I don't think any of the American FCA vehicles have separate HID for hi/low. Someone will know this answer.

What's happening is the the system is checking signal and voltage. When it checks the high beams it's out of its min/max range of values and cuts the power to them. A separate harness would solve that issue.

I'll poke around some more see what else I can find. Also try using the manual function of the lights if you have them set to auto currently.

I currently have the auto function off, I get the same response.

I ended up ordering a harness and an HID canceler plugin. I should have those delivered within the next few days. I’ll post again once I’ve tried troubleshooting with this those.

Thanks for the help so far.

So I can confirm I have them working using the follow setup:

Harness for the highs
Nothing on lows

changed settings with AlfaOBD

HIDS enable
CBC Led Lows and Highs to enable

I appreciate the help!
