Its official. I got the green light from the wifey to get new wheels for the truck and someone lined up to purchase my stock 20's.

Should I get 18's or 20's. Im going to order moto metal 961 rims and some aggressive tires. I have not picked out the tires yet and I have not leveled my truck yet... so i dont know what size tire will fit or look best. Suggestions? Im really just planning on doing some romping in the desert nothing hard core.

If you get 20's you will spend more money on the rims and tires and you wll have less side rubber for rocks and a larger chance of grinding the wheels. If you run 18's you will spend less money on the rims and tires and you will have more side rubber for rocks and a smaller chance of grinding the wheels. All that said 20's just look more bad A$$. I vote for 20's but in the end get what you want and what you like the most. It's your ride.

20's. The price difference between the two isn't much. And the ride quality with having more vs less of a side wall isn't anything you're really going to notice.

MO961 18x9, 5x5.5 OS: 18mm BS: 5.71" - Satin black

Pro Comp XTerrain - 33 / 13.5 R18

Before I order. Am I missing something and do these fit everything? Appreciate the advice!

My thoughts exactly. 18's make more sense to me for driving through rocks and stuff. Wouldn't want to bang up some new wheels!

If those 33s are 13.5" wide I don't think that will fit, not with those specs on that wheel. The wheel is basically the same as the stock 20s (5.75" BS and +19mm offset) but the stock tires are MUCH narrower than that. Perhaps I'm missing something though.

Kevin,
thanks for posting this. I was reading this thread this morning thinking....god i hope he didn't order this. 13.5" wide tires would never fit with that wheel

I've got 13.50's on a 9" wide rim. This is my second set like that. Why wouldn't it work? And i know at least for Toyo and Nitto the most narrow rim width the suggest is 8.5, which I think oem's are.

because you got rims with less backspacing than stock....we are saying it will never fit on the truck...not the wheel....LOL

Also, 8.5 is the minimum width. That makes it suitable for a street queen, but not for offroad. That's why I have two sets of rims/tires. My pretty street queen set and my ugly pitted up offroad set.
