What’s a good motor to replace the 6 cylinder with in a 1950’s dodge power wagon?

You need to measure and see what fits. Be prepared for replacing the rear end. A 9 inch ford rear would be easiest. Just don’t put a Chevy engine in it. Lol. I would look at a small block mopar with a fuel injection carb if you have the budget. Or a 5.7 hemi.

In all seriousness, it all depends what you are doing. 12 valve cummins would be cool. So would a modern hemi with an 8 speed trans.

All depends on your goal and budget. Do you want period correct? A 331-354-392 hemi would be gorgeous there:

Driver? A modern Magnum small block or hemi would fit the bill nicely. Something different? 4bt or 6bt (depending on what fits). Definitely have options and the knowledge that these have been modified so many times over the years that there is a very good chance someone has done what you end up wanting to do.
