Recently bought a 24’ boat and tandem aluminum trailer, while pulling it home
My trans temp got to about 212 and it got stuck in second or 3rd gear hard to tell which. If you shut the truck off and start it back put it into drive or revers the accelerator pedal is dead, put it in neutral it’ll rev up all day. Only way I’ve found to fix it is through bullydog tuner, reset tune to stock and it’ll drive again.
I had the same problem with my last boat though not as often, what I’ve done to fix the problem was bought an oversized trans cooler, added a transgo shift kit and sonnax line booster thinking it would help keep it cooler, but without fail if the trans gets over 210 it gets stuck In gear.
Sean @ Hemifever wrote the tunes for the truck and I asked him about trans tuning if the shift kit/booster would affect anything and he said there was no custom trans tuning available for the 04....so thoughts ?
Fluids and filters changed also when shift kit was done roughly 3/10/18
Second part of this question, my truck pulls the boat just fine, aside from adding trailer brakes to the trailer is there any way to adjust the “clamping force” of the calipers
So they bite a little harder than they do now ?
Thanks
