1) What do you do to keep the trailing edge clean after polishing/waxing up next to it, to get a nice clean edge again?

2) What do you use to dress/protect the film after it's cleaned?

I wax in the same direction as the cut--not back and forth across it. I put sealant and wax on it just like the other painted surfaces. If you get some wax on or in the edges, you might try a soft toothbrush to get it out---just make sure you clean her toothbrush before you put it back---LOL

Thanks. Goes to show you how tired I am from 11 hours of cleaning/claying/polishing/sealing/waxing I am this weekend. I ALWAYS keep old toothbrushes for just such jobs but it didn't occur to me.
I had tried to wax parallel to the edge but got too close in a few spots...

as for protection I applied 303 to it because of the UV inhibitors. May throw some sealant on after next wash.

Thanks again.

I tape it off when polishing, but I normally use Adams AQS which leaves ZERO residue, but when I use a conventional wax or sealant, I just spritz a MF polishing towel with DS or waterless wash and it comes right off. 303 is good stuff, but washes off immediately in rain because it's not water proof. If you like the idea of something with an SPF that will not wash off, use Adams SVRT. It's SPF 35 and is waterproof which means it lasts through rain and a couple of washes. Water beads off of it.

Personally, I don't put any trim products on my clear bra. I just use what ever LSP I did the car with. My bra is now over 4 years old and looks great.

Chris- I had a real good look at Adams products, but their shipping rates are horrific. If they cleaned that up I'd be more tempted to try them.
Right now I need to find a replacement for my Meg's #16 paste wax- the last of the original formula :(

Try Collinite 915. I got a new can that I'll send to you. I found I liked the liquid 845 better and I thought that the 915 was to hard to work with--at least for me. Look it up on autogeek.net and read about it.

We offer $7.95 Flat Rate shipping on all orders in the lower 48 states and routinely offer even further discounted/free shipping promos.

:happy107:

Just a side note, I had the pleasure of removing a clear bra from a black C6 Corvette this past weekend. I wouldn't wish that task on my worst enemy!

$7.95 flat rate is really good IMO! You have to watch for specials too! This last weekend they had 5 dollar flat rate shipping.

I'd recommend you try their Americana paste wax and the SVRT. 110% guarantee means they'll pay you to take them back AND pay shipping. Just try it once... It's worth it! I promise!

All those shipping prices are to US lower 48. I'm in Canada, where no one ships to without an arm, a leg AND your first born.
Even Adams.ca wanted about $18 to ship one bottle of that detailer stuff you mentioned- ya right!

I think they're working on a flat rate right now... I believe a birdie told me that they're almost there. Getting the stuff into Canada really costs a lot. It's not Adams choice to charge that much.

I agree that buying one bottle doesn't outweigh the cost to ship. I won't even do that down here in the States. I usually bundle several items together to get a better deal or wait till a sale. Sales are REALLY where you make out.

Sorry, I think Nick and I both missed that you're "Made in Canada"! ;)

Yeah- I know they're not trying to profit on the shipping, but when you don't know if you like a line it makes it a tough pill to swallow as you don't want to load up at first.

EXCEPT... They will give you 110% of your money back and pay freight back on it so honestly, you have nothing to lose and only something to gain. Either you love it and use it, or you don't and send it back and make 10% of your money back. ;)
