Just got a 2016 rebel. I want to start modding with long tube headers first. I would like to go with 2" lt headers to reach a high power and tourqe level but without any additional mod I'm worried they will make my stock truck sluggish until it gets other mods installed. I would love to hear from someone who has done 2" LT on a stock 5.7.
Thanks

unless you plan on doing FI 2” is way to large. If you want a big cam 1-7/8 is great. 1-3/4 for stock engine will usually make your best power. I have 1-3/4 long tubes from ARH with their high flow catted y pipe on a stock engine with a 6.4 manifold and the power is great and very usable. I plan on camming the truck down the road with a small cam and the 1-3/4 headers should still do great. Primary size is dependent on airflow to help balance the exhaust scavenging so too large will not scavenge as well. Doing headers you should look into a catback or custom exhaust to help free up the rest of the exhaust.

Unless you tune after the header install, or use some plug defoulers, the truck will run very crappy. About to do 1 7/8 headers on my 5.7, but it will have a few other bolt on’s as well. 2” would be best suited for supercharger or turbo builds as @crazykid1994 stated.
