20” Rough Country Light Bar Install Question

I searched the forum and couldn’t find an answer, so I apologize if I missed it in advance. I bought the Rough Country mounting brackets that slip under the tow hooks. These brackets are designed to allow the 20” bar to fit with the factory tow hooks.

There is a plastic “grill” insert between the hooks. Do I need to remove the entire plastic insert or just mount the light bar directly in front of it. Thanks for your help.

No...I have the 30 inch Rough country black series with amber DLR. It fits flush with the bumper. No need to remove the plastic

It's been a minute since I added my 20 inch but I'm pretty sure I HAD to remove the plastic grill.

No...I have the 30 inch Rough country black series with amber DLR. It fits flush with the bumper. No need to remove the plastic

Thank you all for your responses. Rough week at work so I’m just getting back to this. From what I have seen the CTD doesn’t have this plastic insert, just the gassers. I think I will have to remove the insert to make this a one man job. Here’s a pic of the piece I’m talking about. That’s the passenger side hook and the insert that runs to the driver’s side hook.

Mine had the plastic insert, I just removed it and threw it away.
