Ok, so i am new to dodge trucks. I have a 2000 1500 4x4 5.9 magnum. 200k+ mikes on truck 8pk on motor. A few days ago while i was driving it cut out on me while driving. Its like all gages stopped and the engine cut out for a split second. Then the next day it stopped on me at a light and it took a second to restart. Had to crank it that time. The last time it did it was while i was driving, again dash went out rpms stayed at 1000. Luckily I was near a street to turn down. Went about 100 feet and it started back up all by itself and just continued driving.

Wouldn't i check CEL? Its weird, the tach will stay at the RPM that it was at when the engine cut out, and the Speedo and all other gauges drop as if i turned the key off. And the one time it did it at a light it almost acted like i was trying to start it in gear. and then all the sudden the dash lights came on as if the key was in the run position. Thinking maybe ignition switch. I do have a bad fuel pressure regulator so i cycle the key 4-5 times before i start to get pressure in the system. (have new one will replace this weekend).

Hit or miss whether the CEL is triggered. More often than not a crank sensor does not trigger it.
