2002 - Generation ID?

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and have a 2002 Ram 1500 with 4.7L engine.

Since the 2nd and 3rd generation Rams were produced for the 2002 model year, how do I determine which generation truck I have?

You have a 3rd gen.

2nd Gens - the HD trucks were made up through 2002, but in the half tons, 2002 marked the new gen.
