So I have a p0442 code on my 2002 ram 1500 5.9L and I’ve replaced essentially all the rubber grommets and pcv and the intake valve one on both valve covers along with a new ldp and purge solenoid and new hoses and elbows on the charcoal canister and it’s surroundings and it still pops up. I just ordered a mopar gas cap as I replaced it since before the gas cap was alll messed up and had the p0442 as the one in it rn is Amazon special will this finally solve my p0442? Help pls anything im on my last legs.

Two things can help you here.

1) A proper scan tool so you can run the Leak Detection Pump Leak test to see which test is failing.

2) A smoke machine so you can introduce smoke to the system while the purge solenoid is blocked and the vent is blocked.

Without this you are throwing money and parts at it and it still hasn't fixed anything.

Another thing is software. Have you looked at the Emissions TSB's for your truck year/make/model and VIN to see if there was a software update to address this concern?
