Looking to replace my 5.7 with some performance / HP torque upgrades . My 05 has EGR but no MDS. Heard the 6.4 is the same block as 5.7 but not looking to rock the boat, don't want to replace harness or confuse computer.IMG_4328.JPG

You heard wrong lol, unless you're referring to a 5.7 stroked out to a 6.4. Even factory 6.4's (either version) use a different block than the eagle 5.7 (which you don't have). Since you have a 2005, you can easily custom tune for changes, unless this is what you mean by "confuse computer". If so, then you can't do any performance upgrades as the only thing you mentioned will require custom tuning.

Can you swap a 2012 Srt8 6.4 into a 2003 ram 5.7 2500?

Keeping it easy swaps require using a reluctor wheel the same as your current pcm. Gen 3 is 58 tooth. The good news is most if not all stroker kits can be bought with a 58 tooth reluctor. IMO, a 5.7 block with a stroker kit will give you around 6.4 displacement. Put heads, cam and bolt-on's will give you great performance.
