Ok, in the past i have never been a fan of tuners, but on my ram im willing to give a used one a try. What kind of used tuner should i look for thats able to accept a custom tune? And how much is a custom tune? My 2010 ram wont even spin my 37" tires even with 3:92 gears and is currently all stock except for magnaflow exhaust i just added.
Thanks in advance.

Moe's Performance. Diablo I3 tuner just came out, could get the Diablo I2. Moe's package can include custom tuning by Hemifever. Supporting members here.

Another one to compare is Jay Greene for custom tuning.

Custom tuning on these trucks is worth every penny.

Thanks. Im not looking for some big fancy tuner to mount on the dash, just something i can mount in the glovebox that will be able to do a custom tune. Is the diablo I2 what im looking for?
And how much is the custom tune?

This will give you a good idea. Package deal at Moe's for the I3...

http://www.moes-performance.com/mobile/Product.aspx?ProductCode=8345

$489 total with custom tuning added on.

This is the tuner you use when you need it and store away in a safe place when you don't.

I have the I2 and it's perfect if you don't need real time data.

Awesome thanks man! I just found a new one on ebay for $309 shipped. Im gonna hold out for a used one. Then get the custom tune. So I will actually be able to feel a difference unlike the older tuners?

It is literally night and day. You won't be disappointed in this investment. Even if you never do anything else to the truck, the tuning is well worth it.

Yes, you will feel a difference. Having a custom tune on my 2014 6.4L CC was awesome. Totally different and much better than the canned tunes that come with the programmer.

If you buy a used one make sure it is unmarried from the previous version.

Hemifever Stage 1 custom tuning is about $160

Thanks a lot ya jerks! Lol. Now im gonna relapse now that you guys have convinced me its worth it. I had almost 3 months of sobriety!!! Lmao
LOL! You know this forum is more about jumping over the edge vs. pulling you back right? Hahaha

Seriously though, it is amazing what these guys can do simply by tweaking the software on our trucks.

Diablosport will charge around $150 or so to reset it.

You can tell whether or not a unit is unmarried. The seller should post up a pic that looks something like this:

At the end of the day you might be bucks ahead to get a new one and the custom tune package from Hemifever.

Yeah i knew it was just a matter of time before i relapsed! Haha. I have tried tuners on previous cars, and didnt notice a damn thing. But the motors today are controlled by so many electronis im sure a tuner now makes a vast improvement.
Hopefully i will be able to spin my 37's after i get the custom tune installed!!!

Thanks for the heads up and explaining that. Will save me a lot of trouble. $150 to unlock the tuner is a lot of dough. Does the moes package deal include tuning from jay greene? Im just glad i dont have to get an unlocked pcm.

I would think so. I actually can't break my 35s loose since adding a more aggressive cam. Lost some low end but the mid range and top scream.

I'm getting a 3k stall torque converter installed shortly that should regain my launch and tire melting abilities.

Moe's package is with Sean aka Hemifever. He's a great guy and very easy to work with.

A highter stall converter will definitely solve that problem! I had a built 383 stroker in my camaro with a huge 292 duration @.050 and 4:10 gears and it wouldnt spin the tires. Installed a 3k stall converter, smoked em in every gear off the line.

Not a single guy would choose a stock tune over a custom tune w/tuner, and yet they tune these things down. Sad, you should have to by a tuner to turn the down imo, the customer tune should be the stock tune.
