Hi all,

New to the forum here. From Tallahassee, FL. I recently purchased a 2011 1500 Longhorn edition in January (5.7L V8 4x2). I am looking to get a performance muffler for it and am all sorts of undecided between Flowmaster, Magnaflow, and Borla. I had the original muffler removed and am currently running just a straight pipe with a y-pipe out to the tips (bad decision on my part). It originally sounded great, but now - to me at least - it just sounds loud with no real growl.

I am looking for a muffler that gives me a nice deep rumble and growl that's not obnoxiously loud; sound trumps performance for me. I grew up on Flowmasters (had a '93 Foxbody Mustang with flows and an '09 SportTrac Adrenalin with a flowmaster as well) but have watched countless videos of Magnaflow and Borla exhaust.

I am leaning towards Borla. It's such a deep, soulful sound. But Magnaflow is a close second because everyone raves about their performance and I saw a few clips were they sounded great as well. Whatever muffler I choose, it will be running to the tips without the resonators.

At the end of the day, I have a Longhorn, so I want to keep it more of a classy, deep growl that's not obnoxiously loud.

Please help. Thanks All!

Most on here will say Magnaflow. The have a bolt on muffler swap that is really easy. There are all kinds of videos on youtube to give you somewhat of an idea of what it may sound like. Depends on how much you want to spend, cat back, just muffler, delete, etc.
