2011 Paint problems?

I just purchased a 2011 bighorn 1500, silver, when I detailed the rig I discovered spots in the paint under the clear coat approximately 6 inches big on the hood, drivers door, and pass. r. quarter. Body shop says the metal flake in the paint didn't lay down correctly.

The local dealers say they have seen a few trucks with the same type of paint issues.

Is anybody else out there seeing these problems? What did dodge do to rectify these problems?

Dealer is in the process of partial repaint approval. I Don't want a partial repaint.

I also have filed a complaint with chrysler directly, have not heard from them yet.

Any thoughts?

I just had my 2 month old brand new 2011 Ram 1500 truck completely repainted due to a tornado. Best thing ever! Got a custom paint job the way I wanted it, with some stripes and extra clear coats. See if they'll do something extra for you!?!

I recently found paint issues on my 2011. Bubbles on the roof. I gotta call the dealer and see what's going to happen.

Awe! I hope this doesn't effect the solid paint colors too!
Metallics + Dodge = Issues overall.

I'm going to claybar the truck this week. We'll get some sort of an indicator.

Never had much if any rust on a Dodge but what do I know I only live where salt is on the road like 6 months of the year haha

No I have not had any issues. I did get extra clear coats on it when I purchased it then I slid off a mountain in my truck and got it then repainted.

the metallics not laying right is tiger stripping. its common and easily fixed by a good body shop. there's nothing wrong with repainting as long as they fix the problem. I dont understand why people freak out when a dealer wants to repaint a panel. On a side note, I've got the inferno red pearl and my paint is great.

lol ive got the primer with a dull sheen i have no flaws.....bahahaha jk
