Okay so im pretty sure this is some plastic bs over a rim can you take the chrome part off to paint with out taking all the tires off if so how ?

Are you talking about the chrome clad wheels? The 5 spoke ones? Then no, you can't take the cladding off (easily at least). Most people plastidip them with pretty decent results.

They look great, when clean, IMHO.

They're a pain to clean, pain to dry.

You can remove the plastic cover, contrary to what others have said. Here's what is under it (not my truck):





Then - you'll need to sandblast and powdercoat.





I was going to do this - but there comes the problem of how to drive the truck with no wheels while they are being powdercoated. I don't have a spare vehicle. It ended up being a lot easier to buy 2013 Sport wheels.

Yes - what you are seeing is the aluminum wheel that is powdercoated - *not* the chrome cladding.

I know they are different then the SLT but on my SLT they just popped off no bondo or anything on them. Super easy to remove.

biggest problem i have yet to see anybody come up with a solution for with removing the cladding is the center cap. There is nothing to fit the hole

I think Billet Technology will make you a set of centercaps, but that's the only option that I'm aware of.

I have 1 sport rim used as my spare and I took the cladding off too. Wish I could get 4 more to do something like powder coating. I like the look of them.
