After a recent wind and rain storm, my uconnect simply reboots over and over, sometimes goes black, then repeats. It seems like a connection issue and I tried to see if there are any loose fuses, any ideas on what is happening??

Update, went under hood and wiggled all computer connections and it’s been working all day, was thinking of putting electrical contact cleaner on the connections or just wait until it happens again?

Just noticed that the USB seems to not be working to charge my phone, the cord works on my computer. Is there a fuse for the USB port alone?

I have the same problem with same year 1500.
Sometimes it reboots continously sometime it works for days, i checked PCM connectors, they are fine, but there is probably another computer for the radio???
I found some articles that the problem is the built-in disk (if you have one) and changing the harddisk will help with that
There is a a newer software version i found, but it don't help with this issue.
Best solution will be to get a aftermarket unit with the right adapter cable to have , there are several options for +/- 500$ vaialable

The USB port on the right side of the radio is not for charging, use the one inside the middleconsole or use a lighter usb (fast) charger

Thanks, I’ve had a few other issues going on that I’m now investigating but since I pressed all of the fuses in and wiggled all cables the uconnect has been working fine. Latest issue is door locking/unlocking and I’m leaning towards TIPM and I am thinking that could have been uconnect issue as well??

So update, the locks are still not working. As they will lock all doors but only unlock the driver door, it has people stumped. Had wires checked, but I’m thinking TIPM. Also had drivers door sensor checked.

How do I determine if it’s the TIPM? My mechanic says there is a scanner that will troubleshoot?? His scanner won’t do it.

I also have the radio (uconnect) rebooting randomly. From every 2 minutes to as long as days without problems. Did a factory reset, helped for a couple weeks. I've seen a trend in other threads about the communication USB plug being used. Anyone else notice if that plug usage is related to the issue?

Closing out this line of issues for anyone else that may get stuck trying to troubleshoot the uconnect radio. The random reboot of the system slowly got worse to a not working. Contacted unitedradio.com and sent my sytem to them. They replaced the unit (for a price), installed, worked for 3 weeks, problem returned. Replaced the unit again through unitedradio warranty. Worked for 3 weeks and issue returned. FINALLY, by complete luck, found a plug (2 plugs downstream from the radio) that had a missing/defective/broken hinge pin in the plug clasp, so it basically looked connected, but apparently had just enough wiggle to cause the system to reboot but not impact any other dashboard functionality. Frustrating part was multiple conversations with 2 different dealerships kept pursueing the actual radio unit because they are notoriously not reliable.
