I am just looking to take the rake out and get my truck level. I sent an email to PerformanceLifts.com and this is part of what I got back:

Spacers have been sold and installed on this suspension design since Ram went to it in 2002. And going back even further, the same spacer design that fits a 1994 Ram 1500 2wd will also fit a 2014 Ram 1500 2wd.

I have looked on the forum and didn't see any talk of this. Browsing all the different sites online, they're typically separated from 2009 and up. Is this true?

Its probably true, but when vendors separate 09-13 or 02-08 its because they have tested it on these model years. What size spacer are you looking for? I can help ya out. I recommend a 2"

Yeah, 2" is what I was going to go for. The spacer that just sits on top of the coil springs weirds me out though. I know it won't come off, and if it does I have bigger problems on my hands, I just don't like it not being bolted in/down.

But, this is what I was looking at.

That's what I was going to recommend. I wouldn't worry about it coming off, I've never heard a story of this happening. The spring is compressed so much that's theres no way that can happen man.

If you're still unsure contact Maxtrac as they sell 2" lift coils which might ease your mind.

Since the Daystar spacer will add just 2" (approximately), do I have to worry about the UCA bumping or the shock absorber being fully extended?

I cant say for sure since I have no first hand experience, but from contacting all these manufactures over the past year they say no.

I know I had a 3" spacer and it did both those things.

The shocks have ~4" travel so they wont be fully extended, but of course there will be 2" less of upward travel.

Here's the specs:
Compressed Length
9.75"

Extended Length
14.10"

Shock Travel
4.35"

I am adding the 2'' daystar spacer to my CST spindles hopefully by this weekend. I will let you know all the details when I get it on there.

I just finished installing the 2.0" Daystar spacers this morning actually.
I've got a 2013 1500 2wd.
I drove around the neighborhood and no problems with the original shocks or the UCA at all.
The ride feels a little more firm, but i like it.
It was a bit of a pain in the ass to install but i did it myself, took me about 10 hours...... LOL.
From what I read after installing these you'll need to get a wheel alignment though.

Man, that took you awhile! Did they give the advertised lift amount?

Def need an alignment. After the alignment grab measurements for us as the alignment will help settle the spacer and then we can find out the ACTUAL lift height.

thanks bro

That damn coil and the lower ball joint were what took me so long.
Plus it was my first time installing any type of lift.
Right now after measuring i got .5" rake.
Haven't gotten an alignment yet.
I'll let you know if the measurements change at all after the alignment.
Love the way it looks though.
Much better than stock, even with only 2" of lift to the front.
Before Daystar
Rear: 39
Front: 36 3/4"

After
Rear: 39 1/8"
Front: 39

Did you reinstall the coil isolator on top of the spacer? I know some brands do and some don't.

OK cool. Just curious. Curious to see the measurements after the alignment.

Awesome! I don't plan on off-roading or anything, just want that rake gone.

I am going to avoid a 10hr self install and just take it to the shop to begin with. If I have them knocked out the alignment too, would I need to do it again after it settles?

I was torn on whether or not to go with the 2" spacer, or just get this instead. A little bit more pricey but I would have had the option to get new coils and a new shock absorber at the same time.

Going with those springs will give you ALOT of problems, same as a 3" spacer.

I was told that if I were to go with those springs and new shock absorbers, I would have to get new UCA as well. Looking at over $1,000 for that.

One of the reasons I am just going to do the spacer for now.

Do the 2" spacer and then a bodylift on top. They come in 1.25, 1.5, and 3" if you want additional height

Honestly save yourself the trouble and just go 5100 adjustable, I have run spacers on past trucks, but the 5100's ride so much better.

They aren't that expensive either!

Yes you will need an alignment after
No the UCA will not hit with 2 inch spacer and STOCK shocks, the shock itself will only extend fully if your tire goes in a hole deeper than it should, but it would do that anyway,
If by 5100's you are talking about the Bilstiens they wont fit, his is a 2 WD.
The spacers will work fine they wont pop out, and still keep a decent ride.
I have installed mnay sets of the spacers in our 4th Gens, as well as the older models, on our 4th Gens on the ones I have installed ,2 inch NEVER made it level, it was always just slightly off, the 2.5 is what made it level, but that was HEMI and 1/2 tank of gas on mostly 4 doors
