Well, the 2011s and the 2012s have the same PCM encryption...so if they can crack a 2012 then they've cracked the 2011 too. But, if they actually have a truck in the shop and are "trying" to tune it, I'd say that's major progress. Sounds like they may have even cracked some of the code...lol...hell I don't know. Still hoping.

Lol...I guess they figured that after a year, they had better change their response even though it means the same thing.

I'm sure this isn't just limited to the Rams...but everything that has the Hemi. ie the 300c etc etc.

Actually, I was reading on the Diablo/Superchips forums and I think they encrypted pretty much every damn PCM across various 2011+ models of varying engines too. Definitely not limited to Rams. So there is definitely the incentive for those companies to get it figured out.

They wont be cracking it ever. They have never really had to deal with encryption. Chrysler will provide the answer when they want, probably for a fee and the tuners will cost $1500 to cover the fees.

It all comes down to licensing, warranty and responsibility. I don't want to start a war but there are some people that do some irresponsible things with tuners and chrysler foots the bill to fix it. This is their way of covering those repairs and lining their pockets at the same time. More the latter. A few bad apples spoil the bunch is what it comes down to. I would buy a tuner today if it was available so please don't take this as me being an anti-tuner guy or whatever. The reality is we shouldn't need a tuner, we should receive a device or a CD with the trucks to let us set some options we want. I mean I'm a 34 year old man and I can't drive without the traction control all the way off in 2wd? Because of the warranty...
