2013 aftermarket radio

I've seen someone on a forum make a custom harness so it's definitely possible. Crutchfield says no ETA for them to have an install kit to change the radio on 2013 ram. Can we all harass them every day or something to hurry it along?

You'd probably be better off harassing Sochse or PAC audio, the makers of the harness's. Crutchfield is just a distributor. It usually takes a few months after a new vehicle comes out.

Excuse my ignorance, but is the 2013 dash/stereo so different from previous models that it requires a different harness than 2009-12? Is the uconnect stereo system new for 2013 or what is the reason?

If im not mistaken, The '13 radios are actually part of the computer system. It gives you more status of the truck. The '12 ( the one I have) wasnt intergrated as much. So I can see why it takes longer.

The base radio doesn't have all the integrated stuff that the touch screen ones have, it doesn't even have steering wheel controls.

I have the base level 2013 touch screen (uconnect 5.0) and it didn't come with steering wheel controls either so I'm trying to figure out how to add them. There are punch outs for them on the back of the steering wheel.

Saw this aftermarket radio online for 2013 & 2014. Don't know much about it, but I thought I share. Seems plug and play.
