the 2013 big horn 1500 4x4 I bought has installed rear air bags in place rear coil. I understand it was for smooth ride, but not meant to town trailer as rear end sags with 80 psi in each bag. Getting mixed advice on coil replace ment, loocal spring shop says 800 lb spring is all you need , tuff truck suggest their variable spring would do just fine?
I am sure I can replace myself and save $$ but what is best options from other experiment people who done this?
Thank for you comments

I upgraded the springs on my 2009 with the tuff truck springs along with the air bags inside the coils.

The springs by themselves added a little height to the rear and stiffness. Add the air bags and it was pretty stiff unloaded. I never got the chance to tow before I sold the truck but compared to stock I felt a difference.

That being said unless you have a weight distribution setup I feel like the rear will sag no matter what.

I haven't done this, but most that have changed coils went with Tiff progressive and E rated tires. The seem to happy with the ride towing and daily driving.

Hey, I have a set of TTC-1223v springs collecting dust... I'm up near Coeur d'Alene. They worked great. I just wanted a little more oompf. As it happens, I also have a set of OEM springs from my 2015. I even have a set of Timbrens laying around too. Let me know if you're interested in working something out.

Hi Billy’s, yes I would be very interested as I want to go the 1223v with timbrens route. I just need to figure out how to remove the base on the the firestone air springs. I hate to pay somebody. Let me know more on what you have so I know they will fit as I would like to save some $. Attached is picture of FS base I can’t figure out how to get off- let’s chat more to thanks Greg

The 1223V's will work great for your truck. Are those aftermarket air springs?

they are Firestone airspring brand and I am removing them and just selling them. They work great for a smooth ride but I need more stiffness for my blue ox tow hitch.

Yes I do! I'm in north Idaho. CDA/Post Falls. I'll take $125. And I have a set of Timbrens as well. $50.. I don't get back to this site quite regularly. I think you should be able to message me through it though.
