2013 Ram Bighorn domelight not working ?

Took it to dealer said there is a short between the BCM and the domelight . 1400.OO find it ? They said dashboard would need to be removed . Anyone help ? I checked bulb and replaced both had continuity . When i roll the dimmer it briefly flickered . Open door no lights dome , map or floor boards . Yet i can turn on map light manually . Everything else is working as it should . Even replaced dimmer control and returned it , did the same thing . Thanks for your time Don

I haven't had this problem, but much of the wiring is under the headliner and routed down the A pillar, and continues down to the BCM. I bet you could inspect most of the wiring without taking the dash apart.

Start with the headliner, then follow the wires.

When i roll the dimmer it briefly flickered . Open door no lights dome , map or floor boards .

If you roll the dimmer all the way to the left the interior lights don't turn on if you open the door.
Do the interior lights turn on if you roll the dimmer all the way to the right? There should feel two detents, the second one turns the interior lights on.
Do you get a notice or warning light if you open the driver's while the truck is running?

Interior lights do not turn on when i roll wheel to furthest detent. I do get the icon when door is open .

Update : for some reason the interior lights started to work again ????

Sounds like a contact problem or loose wire. I wouldn't mess with it since working unless you are a *********. If so, start fiddling with dimmer switch to see if it comes on and goes off regularly as you said rolling it caused flicker, leads me to believe that might be bad. You could tap around dome light and see if it gets intermittent. But suggest leave it alone for now.
