2013 Ram, who has one? Give some thoughts

Looking at ordering one as I'm sure many others are comtemplating the upgrade to new so for those of you who have gotten one, let's hear your thoughts.

I picked up my 2013 today. It's an awesome truck! The ride is great and it's really comfortable. I got a black crew cab SLT 4X4 with a 5.7 HEMI and a bunch of options. The sound of the engine is freekin' awesome. I can feel it and hear it growling as I'm cursing around! Last time I test drove a RAM was about 4 years ago and the interior wasn't that great but the new interior is really nice!

Only driven 50 miles today so I can't give you a real good review but I am really happy!!

I was driving a 2009 Tacoma which was an awesome truck but you can't compare the Tacoma and the Ram. They are different trucks that have their own purposes.

Ok tell me how do you like the new shifter ??? And can you shift on the fly like the my 2010 ??

I have a gated shifter for the transmission and a knob on the dash for selecting 4X4. You can shift in 4X4 High while driving. Is that what you mean by shift on the fly?

Other models of the 2013 have the transmission gear selector as a knob on the dash. Not sure what that's like.

Yea I agree. Looks like you can only choose reverse, neutral and drive with the knob . WTF!! Maybe I'm wrong???

he's talking about the dial for the 8 speed, which you don't have (not available for the hemi yet)

I just picked up my 2013 Crew Cab Laramie, black, yesterday. I had a 2011 and I traded that in, I can not believe how much different of a truck it is now. The steering is more responsive in my opinion as well. I had a Big Horn before so this is a huge upgrade on the options, I love how everything is back lit with Blue LED lights, such as behind the door handles, the door pockets are also lit up, there is small LED lights under the back seat that light up the floors for rear passengers. Just a huge upgrade.

I have always had Dodge trucks, and this by far is the best upgrade yet. I will get pics posted soon, it is raining out right now...

What JJ said. The knob shifter is only available in the small engines I believe. I sat in a 2013 on the lot and I noticed few changes besides a screen in the gauge cluster and the massive head unit screen (which doesn't have a CD player!) which you can control virtually everything from your A/C to the volume and fade, and cosmetics on the exterior. I haven't drove one yet so I can't compare to my 11. One thing that ticks me off is 90% of the trucks in the two dealers lots in my town have the sport performance hood and black housed headlights. I wanted to be at least a little different guess ill have to get JJ to retro my stocks to body color!

The knob is with the 8speed, which currently is only on the V6. The Hemi gets it later, so it will move when that rolls around......

On the headlights, yeah....all sports are getting those black ones. Fun stuff there, I can take yours do up a one off set.

not at all. They went to a single plug on the lights, and the lights have a buttload of internal wiring.

I think the plug has.....9 wires on it? Yeah.

Are you planning to come up with an adapter for the 09-12 lights to work with the 13s?

After hearing all these subtle touches to the new 13s...I think I might just have to go test drive one....
