I am from Michigan. About 2 months ago we had record rain fall here. My brand new truck with 2200 miles on it has a blown motor due to water damage. The dealer has had my truck for almost 2 months because the motor is on back order and when I called Chrysler they told me I should not have drove through the water. Has anyone else experienced this and how long did they have to wait for a new motor? I have made 2 payments with no truck. Getting very frustrated!

Yikes. Not sure how long it should take, but doesn't seem like it should take months. I hope your insurance is paying for the repair.

I don't want to sound like a **** but I hope the engine was ruined from being flooded and not you driving through the water. If it is from the later one I hope you are paying for it and not your insurance company, I don't want my rates going up because everyone decided to drive through water.

Even if you were driving and "hit" a big puddle, collision insurance should cover it IMO. Same as if you hit a tree.

It was more than big puddles. Entire expressways and roads were shut down because there was so much standing water.

Ok. Like hitting a tree while off-roading. LOL Insurance will cover it. Any flood damage. or any accident/damage without another vehicle involved, is usually covered under the comprehensive coverage (even if a tree falls on your truck), if the OP had it. If the truck was leased or financed, it most likely did have comp coverage as lenders and leasers insist on it.

I was at Henry ford hospital in macomb when I came out my truck was submerged in water up to the door handles. Thanks for letting me know it's not a boat I was confused about that!!!! There was 5 ft of standing water on the road.

So why are you so frustrated? It sounds like **** happened. Sucks, but it's not Chrysler's fault.

Ok. That isn't bad. I hatted watching the news and seeing all of the idiots stranded because they thought they could drive through 4 feet of water.

Damn, that really blows, I don't think natural disaster type events are covered by insurance. Hopefully you get your beast up and running soon.

It rained over 3 inches in 1 hour. It went from puddles to lakes in a matter of 1 hour. There would have been no moving it.

That truck should get a salvage title. No way should a flood car get fixed and keep a clear title. IF there's water in the engine, its also in the diff's, tranny, xfer case, not to mention all the wiring has been soaked and computers/sensors......that truck is going to be a real lemon once its "fixed"

Being as bad as the storm was you may not be the only one waiting in line for a Hemi. They only store so many engines, and it is not many, for spares.

You will just have to be patient, it is not Chrysler's fault, blame mother nature.

He is frustrated because Chrysler is taking too long to get off there *sses and get him a motor. Just like the recall for my wifes Durango that the dealer has been waiting 4 months for them to ship them the repair parts. And these are parts that could result in complete brake failure.
