2014 Express - Runs in the Paint on Driver Side Rocker...

So I finally decided to give the truck a full wax tonight and came across some pretty noticeable paint runs on the driver side rocker. I tried taking some pictures and the two below are the best I could get with my phone. My initial instinct is I need to take it to the dealer right away and see what they will do about it. All I can think about is one rock hitting this area just right and BOOM...peeling paint. I would think the dealer would have to do something about this. Do you guys agree?

What is it with the paint on these trucks? My buddy has a 13 Laramie and there's a spot on his that you can tell they got something in the base coat and just used a finger to wipe it out of the paint and cleared over it. But thats just...wow. I can't believe a new vehicle would leave the factory like that. Yes definitely make the dealer fix that. That's simply unacceptable.

Ya that's covered. Just another poor QC check on ram and the dealers part when they took delivery and did the PDI on it.

Yea, I would take it back to the dealer, at least in that spot they can just repaint the rocker without having to repaint an entire door or bedside. I have a small blemish just over the wheel well on my drivers side. I'm probably going to let that then have them try to respray the hole side of my bed and hope it matches and everything.

The service manager submitted to Chrysler and I just have to wait until they come back with something. It's pretty clean cut though so i don't see any reason they won't. I just hope they do a good job with the repair so it doesn't look worse after than it does right now. I've never had good luck with body shops touching up small areas.

Quality control for the paint on these trucks are just awful. It will be covered they have to get a approval from Chrysler witch will take a few weeks. Once approved they will get you in to fix it and give you a rental. I went through this with my 14 express but mine was solvent pop on the roof. The whole process is pretty much painless if your dealer is close.

yeah I had a clear coat bubble and a run on the bottom corner of my passenger side door. I mentioned it to the dealer and they gave me the run around and figure they might make it worse so i fixed it my self..

I definitely plan on taking several pictures before I hand over the keys that way if it does in fact come back worse, I have the documentation to give to Chrysler.

I will also add I have some rust bubbles on the inside rocker panel on the back drivers side door sill. that I will be contacting the dealer about as im sure that rust is going to spread under the paint fast.

When I get home I'm going to do a thorough once over of everything since I'm guessing there are more paint issues I haven't noticed yet.

I heard a rumor that during this plant shut down Ram is going to renovate the painting booths in the plant. This is just a rumor and I have no facts to back it up, but they certainly need to address this at the plant, it has been going on for to long.

good thing is your truck is new so if they repaint that rocker the blending wont be hard at all
