Good Morning, afternoon or evening! Thanks for taking the time to read my issue on my new and beloved Dodge Ram 1500.

Has heated/cooled front and rear seats. The issue is that both the front seats' light will come on and stay on but the seats don't get even remotely warm. The driver's seat did twice, but is extremely temperamental. The rear seat lights do not even come on at all (and don't get any heat). Checked the fuses and they are all good. Tried to find a wiring diagram for the seats all over the internet, but came up empty. Would like to see if the module is sending voltage to the pads but don't know which wires to test under the seats.

My hope is to be able to pose my question to those of you who know A LOT more than I do about these issues. I actually should have a bit of time at the fire station between calls tomorrow and will have my voltmeter and other tools to try to pinpoint the issue with you directions.

Thank you SO much for your time and hope that I can be pointed in the right direction!

Welcome to the forum! A little information about your truck would be helpful, I see in your profile it says a 2003 which would be a third gen, and to have all those comfort features, would be aftermarket. Or to have factory heated and cooled for both the front and rear seats, that would have to be one of the new 2019 and up 5th generation trucks. Currently you're in the 4th generation area, but either way some more information will probably be needed to help you.

That is so my bad… The 2003 is gone and I have a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 with the Laramie package. Factory heated seats, factory heated steering wheel etc. Fourth generation and the schematics are really hard to come by on the internet. Thank you so much for your help!

I’m still trying to figure this out and, if there’s anyone that might be able to help me troubleshoot, I would absolutely appreciate it!

In order to accurately diagnose what your issue may be you need to check for DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Codes) codes in the BCM (Body Control Module) and HSM. (Heated Seat Module). Without checking for these codes it's hard to pinpoint exactly what may be going on. You cannot check for these codes with a regular OBD scanner. You would need to purchase the Alfa OBD tool and check them yourself or have the dealer check for codes. recommend going with the Alfa tool. There is a thread on the Alfa tool. You can also check under the seats to make sure all of the connectors are seated correctly. I will also post pictures of the seat connector pinouts so you can get an idea of what to check.

This is the passenger side pinout.796cd7d8d91844da47fa9c4612f4cdb5.jpg40f7ff98c269e37e587737c0f8927b8c.jpg

Drivers seat 20 pin grey connector. Sorry these are upside down. They keep switching themselves but you can get an idea of the actual wiring. 4a87552f5023eb6da21840bd5650f7af.jpg1b18614ad74784c6eee5f381f14fe709.jpg
