I have a 2014 dodge ram lone start edition but didn't come with the stock oem woofer in the back seat. I found a used one at a local junk yard took it home found the harness that goes to it and plugged it up. But now there no sound coming out of it. Does anybody know if have to do anything else? Blown Fuse? Missing amp for the sub? PLEASE HELP

I just recently went over this as I'm replacing my factory subs with something better and was thinking of installing my old factory sub in someone else's 8.4 non alpine system. General concensus was it required an amp and line out converter to make it work as there isn't a signal or amplifier installed for it in the non alpine system. There's a pretty extensive thread now on wanting to add subwoofer under rear seat

You have the 8.4 head unit, which is what the trucks I was going to put my sub into have. Not the alpine system so no amp for the sub. At least to the best of my knowledge.

Laramie and Longhorn were prewired for the subwoofer.

Look under driver dash, if you see a giant block of metal with fins - that is the amplifier. If you don't see it - no amp and sub wont work.

If you don't have the Alpine system/amp in the truck, and you want to add a subwoofer, look into the Kicker Hideaway. You can easily mount it under/behind the rear seat.

Im curious to what harness you have back there. If its the one under the seat thats just open, there is one on each side. Its for the under seat lighting and heated seats if you had them.

The white plug on the left is the subwoofer and the gray one on the right is heated seats and under seat lightingIMG_20180323_144602.jpg

Easy way to tell if you have the amp that powers the sub is if your center channel speaker has a Alpine emblem on it like others have said.
