Hello, I've got a 2014 Ram 1500 and just recently the GPS got all messed up. I have tried several resets with no luck. So I tried a factory reset and still no luck. Right now it's software version 14.25.5. when I go to the uconnect site and enter my vin# it says I'm up to date. Obviously not, is there a place I can get the last update without going to the dealer?
Thanks!

When i noticed that my Navigation Maps showed me miles away from my actual location ...

I bought updated Maps, they also sent me a 2nd file.
I forget what it was called, but the instructions told me to install the 2nd file before installing the Map file.

I believe that the 2nd file was what corrected the location,

The Map file just updated locations like Stores, Eateries, sporting complexes, etc.
It also added any new Routes

Aircard failure could be the issue but on my 2014 with an RA4 the issue was actually the antenna itself. Does SXM have a good strong signal in your truck? If if you don't subscribe you should still get the preview channel. Also, your firmware is very old but the UConnect site hasn't been a reliable source for firmware in years. You can update your firmware with files located here BUT if your aircard is bad the firmware update process may fail leaving you in a bootloop until the hardware is repaired.

Well, this is all I'm getting with SiriusXM so I'm guessing the antenna? What do you recommend?
Thanks!

You can replace the antenna on the roof. Dou you know which kind you have (sharkfin or puck)?

It looks more like a sharkfin. Is this your recommendation? Have you done one, is it hard?
Yes, I'd try to replace OEM but you might be able to get a cheap GPS antenna on Amazon that will work too. It's not difficult to access, is yours on the rear drivers side?

I had Xm for a few yrs and dropped it last year as i don't drive enough to bother.
I still get the music and picture of their advertising, so i would think your antenna is shot, if you are outside.
If I am in the garage, then I get that, you have to be out in the clear.
they keep sending me deals, its down to about $5.oo/month now.
I have never paid for nav. updates, so some of the new roads are not shown.
But I never ever get lost anyway. ;)

I have not tried to set my radio to Sirius radio in a long time
Then again, i do not pay their price to receive it.

I could only guess that my radio screen, would read

No Signal , or something similar

Does the sharkfin have anything to do with local FM/HD radio stations? I live in a flat state, and several of the local(40mile radius) stations don't pick up too well. I normally just listen to music through android auto, but if I don't feel like plugging my phone in, I'll try to listen to the radio, with minimal success.

Nope, that's all the fender antenna.

Well damn, I zoned out and ordered the wrong one. It said on the site that it's compatible with my truck, other than being bigger do you think it'll work?
Thanks.

Probably. The Sharkfin just has an additional antenna connection you don't have the wiring for, but the GPS/SXM connection should be there.

EDIT: Make sure it still clears you garage door

It works, thanks for the help! Also, do you know of a way I can get the latest update for my uconnect? When I go to the website it says I'm up to date, but I did a factory reset so I am far from up to date.
Thanks!

Well generally I'd say leave it as is if everything is working. The update website hasn't been accurate in years. Little is gained if anything at all feature wise via these firmware updates.

If you want to proceed, do you know your current firmware update?

Here's all of my current #'s. I think if you get me the most recent files I will download them and hold onto them to see how everything works per your advice. If it's not working well I will then try the update.
Thanks again!

Ok, that's fairly old if not original factory firmware. @Mpgrimm2 put together a great thread for firmware updates for your truck. If you have questions on what you need feel free to ask them here though...

Edit: specifically, this post should pertain to your radio...
