Good day,
I live in Canada, and I have a 2014 Ram 1500. I recently purchased a new iPhone 17 Pro and I am experiencing issues with my Bluetooth with Uconnect. The phone pairs, and I can hear the other person when there is a phone call. But they hear a very distorted voice from me. I have tried everything (resets on my phone, disconnect battery, soft reset on Uconnect, etc.). I then tried going to a dealership who suggested that an update might solve this issue but they also mentioned that going from my software at 13.51.11 to the latest 17.43.01 may cause the radio to fail completely and that there is no way to revert back to factory defaults. I was just wondering if anyone had the same issue and if there was a way to resolve it. Please let me know if you need any more information. Thanks.

AI:

iPhone 17 Pro users are reporting significant Uconnect Bluetooth issues, specifically garbled or one-way audio during calls. This appears to be a widespread compatibility bug between new iPhone 17 hardware and Uconnect systems, often manifesting as inaudible microphone input despite working audio. Solutions include updating iOS, re-pairing, or using a separate Bluetooth headset.

I’d suggest two things. First, borrow an earlier version of iPhone from a friend and pair it to see if you get the same result. And check iOS versions on the two phones, as the issue could be either hardware or OS on the phone.

Secondly, I’d still do the update but first review the “Roll up Info” sticky thread over in the Audio and Electronics sub-forum for pointers on doing the update. The file names/versions may be different depending upon which specific radio is in your truck, but the ideas and suggestions for incremental updates may help guide you.

Best,
RI

Or just use a USB wired port like I did in my 22 until a newer iPhone update worked with Uconnect...

Thanks! I really appreciate your responses.. I will probably end up buying a new headset. I was not aware that there were compatibility issues. Even Apple didn’t mention anything when I called them. Nor did the RAM dealership.
Thanks again!
