My dads looking to trade his 2014 Silverado High country for a 2015 SLT Cummins. And the darn thing has a backup beeper on it. Do any of you guys know where it's located and how I can shut it off. It's driving us crazy.

Ah thanks Tex. Will that shut off the proximity sensors all though?

Yes, and what makes it even better is that they will not come back on until you press the button again. Even on restart.

We just tried it. It don't shut off his back up beeper. Just the proximity sensors.

I thought the back beepers you are referring to are the proximity beepers.

Does he have an 8" screen like the picture above?

If it has an exterior backup beeper on it that was added after the fact, it's not a factory option. You'll need to find wherever it is and unplug it. Have him in the truck with it in reverse and you can walk around to locate where the sound is coming from.

We tried that in his garage like a bunch of dummies. Lol's. It echoed off the walls and I couldn't find crap. So we gave up. And by the time we backed it out of the garage it was dark and we stopped looking for the night.

I'm going back over in the morning to look for it again. And see what I can figure out in the daylight.

It's possible someone spliced on to the backup light wire (at the rear light or at trailer wiring) and stuffed the beeper inside one if the rear lights or in the bumper.

Thanks guys. Me and him just talked on the phone about the tail lights having one wired in there. The drivers tail light is alittle loose. Not enough to worry about but just enough to notice. So that could be where it hidden and spliced in at. If so it will be pulled out once he signs his paper work.

Found this noisy little thing. Tucked behind the drivers tailight. Disconnected it and the truck is no longer an old mans truck any longer.
