The lock button on my key fab for my 2015 RAM is no longer working. Do I replace it or try to fix it? This is my first time experiencing this type of problem.

Do you have a second fob and if so, is it working? Does the lock button still work? If you have a second fob and it’s doing the same thing, the issue is less likely to be the fob and more likely an issue with the module that controls the locks.

If you think it’s the fob itself, pop open the fob using a coin or screwdriver as per instructions in the owners manual. Inspect the contacts and make sure they are clean and aligned.

Best,
RI

Sometimes the contact buttons get detached.

You can buy just a case with rubber and contacts, and swap it into your fob case.

The fobs contacts don't last forever, and being dropped here and there speeds up the process.

believe it or not, the FOB batteries on my December 2015 Built Ram still work great

The Spare Fob Printed Circuit Board went bad
The horn on the Ram would BEEP every minute or so, the FOB itself was never used in the Ram, it just sat in an envelope in my computer hutch.

I ended up going to a Mobile Locksmith's store front & bought a replacement FOB.
The shop told me that they could have fixed the Original FOB.
I kept the Original in a Baggie, along with the New FOB, i never put the Battery in the new FOB.
I will install it when i need it

I opened the fob and replaced the battery but noticed one of the contact pads (the small circular discs) was missing for the button that is not working. How did it go missing? I have no clue. However, can someone direct me where to get a replacement? I can't find it anywhere online. Only a replacement for the entire rubber housing. Thank you.

do you have a Passive or Smart FOB ?

the Passive FOB is inserted into the Ignition to START your truck

if it is this style, you can buy an empty case
the case has the contact buttons in it

You just need to place your current Green Circuit Board and Battery into the new empty case

these are all empty case shells, just like you need
