Hey fellas,

I have a 2015 Ram 1500 Big Horn. Many trips to Florida and back as rocked up the mileage. I’m about 130,000 miles right now.

I was thinking of replacing the front struts and rear shocks. I also had a 2008 ram 1500. Back then I put Bilstein struts and shocks on it. At that time I had a local mechanic do that work.

What are the best strut & shock options now for the 2015 Bighorn? I have a spring compression tool. But I don’t know whether it’s best to keep those original springs? Or if there are good “preloaded” spring-strut options for this truck?

Thanks for any helpful advice!

Maybe shoot a PM to @Quick_Shifter , very knowledgeable
about our trucks chassis and suspension, and of course a
member here. ;)

That's who I would reach out to first.

EDIT: my 2014 1500 has 112,000 miles, all street. I'm just starting
to think it's time for me to do the same.

I don't know where you are in NY, but he is in eastern PA. Maybe
not very far away?

Will do. We grew up on Long Island. Tomorrow is our last day there. Next stop is citrus county Florida

We recently built a highway traveler ram that drives from bucks county PA to Florida regularly. I opted for the Bilstein 6112 package for the smoothest ride. They come with soft rate coils and have a much bigger body. The rear shocks can match the Bilstein fronts but I’ve tested the Fox 2.0’s and they mate very well with the 6112’s up front.

Thanks for the reply! Which Bilstein shocks go in the rear? I’ve been looking online. Is that the B8 5100 shocks?
