Got back from a big trip, at under 50k miles I think the shocks are dead (a lot of excessive rebound even unloaded) and the struts are probably dead (seems to bottom out too easy).
I'm looking at Shock Surplus and I see two Bilstein options I would consider: one is 5150 replacement strut inserts and shocks for about $550 and the other is loaded struts assemblies (with springs) and rear shocks for $1200. For a highway truck, would it need the front springs at 50k miles?
I have 5150s on both my other trucks...want to stay with them.
