2015 Ram 2500 Crew Cab back seat won't flip up?

Hey everyone, I just picked up a 2015 Ram 2500 Crew Cab, The back Seat wont flip up all the way. Its like it gets stuck. I can't find a lever or anything, I also tried some WD40 on the hinges but still now luck.

Any Help would be great. Thanks

Did it EVER work right?
If so, something might be getting crushed way under & in the back by the cab wall or in the steel brackets.

I just did the "magic trick" back seat mod that allows access to the space behind the seatback. I did notice there's a kind of increased resistance part way up and then it releases and the seat goes up fully. Kinda like getting over the "hump" while drawing a compound hunting bow. Mine's always been like that.

I just bought the truck. So im not sure. I was able to get them up after going hulk, but then they didnt want to go down, got them down, now wont go back up. Im taking it to the dealer. lol

I have a 40/60 split bench in the back of my truck and had the same issue for a while just on one side. I found that there is a sort of spring loaded catch in the actual seat hinge that I am assuming will keep the seat from flipping closed or open in the event of an accident. But I had found that the hinge had gotten gummed up and would not allow the swinging hammer catch to return to the neutral position. I had to clean it in place and lubricate the hinge really good to get it to stop catching.. I will try to take a picture of it and show you what was causing my to hang up.

The red arrow is pointing towards the actual swing that will catch on the nub that is circled in blue in the event of a sudden quick movement of the seat. In a normal operations when you are moving the seat up or down the floating part in the middle(red arrows in both pictures) will hang flat and miss the catch/ nub circled in Blue. Mine was all clogged up with dirt keeping the floating part from returning to neutral level hanging position which would allow the seat to flip up or down..Again I believe it is a safety issue in the event of an accident to keep the seat from flopping up and down. Make sure that swinging level catch is able to swing freely . If it is getting hung up then you will have the above mentioned issue. Once I cleaned mine out and oiled it up real good the seat started working smooth again.. Good luck..

Trimming the two hooks that keep the back seat upright from folding down. Cut about 3/4" off and you then can lift the back seat bottom about 50% and the upright "unhooks" and can be folded down. Plenty of "new" storage back there for whatever you want to keep hidden but accessable. There are videos on the internet. Easy to do.

This just happened to me when I was at the car wash attempting to vacuum under the seat. I grabbed the back part of the seat on both sides, gave it a couple good tugs and it freed it up, but I’ll probably want to spray some wd40 on the part that’s getting hung up if it continues.
