I use Cougar Motor LED’s from Amazon in my 2018 with reflector quads. I’ve tried TechMax, Farhen and Cougar Motor LEDs. There is very little room behind the high beam dust cover and most don’t fit. The Farhen and Cougar Motor X-small both fit inside the dust cover of the high beams. I’ve been very happy with how well these LEDs have worked out in a reflector headlight. All three recommendations are less than $50. I’ve had them in over three years now and one high beam unit quit working a few months ago.

The retrofit source..com has alot of good info and quality products. Don't worry about canbus stuff just use alfaobd to change the settings for headlight bulbs and you're set.

Pretty sure led's in reflectors are the lights that blind people driving down the road. I'm all for brighter lights but don't blind everyone else doing it. They take a while to get here, but aliexpress has some super cheap led's that are very bright. Even if you get them off Amazon or wherever, just get led's with canbus chips built in and you wont have any issues.

I know nothing about LED lights. I do know my low beams on my 2018 1500 are pitiful in early morning light or slight fog.

Over the past 50+ years of driving cars, trucks, and over the road tractor-trailers, I have always been able to get satisfactory vision without blinding anyone.

I have adjusted the lights up as much as I can without blinding anyone. When sitting behind someone at a traffic light, in slight fog I can see my lights are projecting just under their side view mirror, so I am as high as I can go.

The lights are just too dim.

Are these a good upgrade, not too bright, and a non-offending color? I do not like blue lights at all.

These lights are bright and a white light as well these are a great up grade in my opinion ! i to use to drive OTR so i know what you are talking about ! Just remember when you put these in that you may have to realign your lights !

Thanks for the info. While driving home tonight I finally realized part of the problem. I am used to sealed beam lights that put out light in all directions, including up, even when the main light is aimed correctly.

These have a decently bright light, up to the cutoff point, where the light completely off. It's going to take time to get used to that.

Something else I wish these trucks had that I liked. That is side lights that come on when the turn signal is on. I had these on my Mercure Grand Marquis, and loved them. It's a sharp turn into an uphill dark driveway to my house, and I miss the needed light those lights produced.

I bought a set of high and low beam LEDs for my truck.

All I can say is OMG, what a difference. I can actually see again.

I got a complete set from Amazon that were 6000K, which is as blue as I wanted to go. The didn't have the fan for cooling, which I didn't want anyway, and they were plug and play.

No extra drivers needed, and no flickering or error messages. Why didn't Ram put something like this in from the factory instead of the low watt candle like bulbs they installed?

The only thing I found I didn't like, is the O-ring on the 9005 buls is not as beefy as the factory, so not as snug of a fit. I don't know why I didn't change the o-ring out with the old bulb. Not thinking since it was dark when I did them. It's snug enough to hold. but not as snug as I would like. But, they work great.
