Gents:
First off, huge thanks to @Ricks Ram and @Mpgrimm2 for helping me with this upgrade. The install help with Rick went damn near perfect, and the quality of Mikes hardness's looked like they came from Mopar directly.
I am extremely happy with the investment I made and wish I would've went this route in the beginning.
Backstory -
My truck came with the little RA2 radio, and I obviously hated it.. I'm big into hard hitting stereo systems, and of course wanted the navigation as well... so I bought a Pioneer 5201 NEX deck, thinking I had it made. Well, the install was **** to begin with and since the deck wasn't ground correctly ( thanks Best Buy ), I went through 2 different decks before seeing Rick at his house when my dad was visiting him. He asked me what I had done to my truck, and after I told him the nightmares I was having after putting in the aftermarket radio, he removed the radio and it was literally, a rats nest of wiring and poor workmanship... and knowing how **** ( in a good way ) Rick is with his vehicles, it was priceless to see his face after he saw what those knuckleheads cut and what they spliced to make this hackjob, "work". Once we put it back together, He immediately put me in touch with Mike and we got the ball rolling with this upgrade.
Now fast forward to today after installing the stuff finally yesterday, my 2016 has the following -
- 8.4 RA4 Radio ( came out of a 2018 RAM )
- Custom Bezel with ATC
- 7 Speed Fan System
AUDIO SYSTEM
- JL Audio JX1000 AMP
https://www.amazon.com/JL-JX1000-1D-Monoblock-Amplifier/dp/B004LMCZMY
- JL Audio TW3 12" SUBS w/custom FoxBox under the rear seat
https://www.jlaudio.com/products/12tw3-d4-car-audio-tw3-subwoofers-92185
- Fox Acoustics box
https://www.foxacoustics.com/
- AudioControl LC7i Convertor
https://www.audiocontrol.com/car-audio/factory-system-upgrade/lc7i/
* This is needed to run with your factory Infotainment Radios
For those of you that think that aftermarket decks are the way to go with these newer Chrysler vehicles, don't make the mistake I did. These stereos have so many options that you can unlock it's ******* unreal, and I wish I would've had this knowledge 4 years ago. I couldn't be happier with how everything turned out, and my system sounds even better than it did before!
I have attached a few pictures of the install but if you'd like to see more, feel free to check the dropbox link.
