I recently picked up a truck that has an aftermarket android device installed image.jpg
And it’s driving me crazy. 1 the climate controls are integrated into it. I frequently need to reset it because the controls become unresponsive. Secondly, I’m an iPhone user and overall, the unit is useless to me for navigation and music apps. In my search for an OEM center stack, I have two styles matching and say they are a fit. Question is would either work for climate control, I’d purchase a new radio unit, or do I try to find an aftermarket unit that would fit as it is now and work for me?

Do you have dual or single zone climate controls?

When working, the android device acts like its single zone. There are controls for dual but the temperature goes up and down on both zones when adjusting from either zone.

When both temps go up/down together, that is usually linked set points. It doesn't indicate that the truck was a single zone.
Run your VIN number here: https://fcagroup.my.site.com/RAM/s/equipment-listing
(use all capital letters)
This will give you your build sheet, it will tell you if the truck has dual zone automatic climate control. There was no factory single zone ATC but it was a popular mod. The temperature sensor (under the dash) and humidity sensor (on windshield) needed to be added for the single zone ATC mod.

A quick scan and I didn’t see either sensor or mention of dual zone/single zone. I’ll read it over more closely after the kids go down. Thank you.
