Doing it yourself or paying someone to do it? On an unknown vehicle with 97K miles or is that KM's? With 97K miles I would replace everything: plugs, PCV valve, air filter, Change the engine oil, Front and rear diffs and transfer case, Transmission fluid and filter, Flush and refill the cooling system and many of these guys would flush and refill the brake system too. If you do all that stuff yourself probably $500 in parts and fluids alone. If you have to pay someone to do it probably $1500 because the transmission service is a very expensive undertaking all by itself if you have to pay somebody else to do it. Also I would recommend a fluid and filter replacement not a flush.

Having my mechanic do it, 97K Kilometers. The front and rear diffs were replaced prior to me buying the truck. Wow you hit the nail on the head with the amount my mechanic said about 1000-1500. Thanks man I feel ever better about this purchase now.
