2016 ordering confusion

Hello all, this is my first post in this forum. I have always been a Ford truck fan. Bought a new 6.0 in 2005. It has been disaster. I was going to trade for a new one. We all know the guy that goes through an absolute horrible divorce and then three weeks after the divorce is final, is engaged to someone new. And I have to ask, "did you not learn ANYTHING the first time???" Well, I realized that as much as I love those Fords, that would be me if I bought another one. So I went next door and ordered a 3500 CC LB DSL 4x4 Longhorn. Here is where I am confused: I'm not sure that my sales guy knows 100% what is going on. When I ordered June 6/08, I was told too late for the 2015. No big deal. About 7/17 he calls and says that my truck is scheduled to be shipped 7/20 - which was seven days ago. So if this is to be believed, the truck is now sitting in a lot somewhere until it can railed to somewhere near Iowa. I asked for a VIN but so far he hasn't been able to produce one. I'm am confused because from all the research that I have done, the 2016 is not even going to be in production until (I've heard varying reports) end of July to even maybe October. Well, if mine is really already built, I figure I should be able to find some 2016's online for sale somewhere. Certainly mine was not the FIRST one off the line. But I cannot find an available 2016 anywhere. Then I find this link that shows production will not start until October.

There is surprisingly little information on this to be found out there. Does anybody have some real information on this? Would sure appreciate it. If there is a link that is has already covered this, no need to be overly polite. Just point me to it. My search did not reveal any answers to production dates.

Hello, my first post here too. I went into my local dealer late june to order my 2015 and was told the ordering was closed for them (No surprise I've since learned). Spoke with him mid july and was told, Good news we can order it! Even though I'm chomping at the bit to get in one Im skeptical of any design I haven't seen yet since there has been no announcement from dodge. So I've held off for now but I'm loosing patience lol. I can only guess the order can be placed but won't actually ship until production starts, whenever that is. I assume they need to clear out the 2015s before shipping the 16's.

Ordered a 16 a week and a half ago. Have not received an email from RAM telling me about it yet, but not really worried about it. Dealer estimated 8 weeks but didn't know for sure. They also indicated that the factory shuts down in July to get everything ready for the 2016 build (not sure if there's any truth to that). I figure the longer the wait, the bigger down payment I can have and the better chance for some sort of rebate.

They were probably able to slide your order in. Just make sure when you pick the truck up that all the options you selected are there.

If you have placed an order there should be a VON, vehicle order number. There are people on the RamForumz that can look up the build progress with that info. I think his username is SPP. I think your salesman is full of *****. No way it is placed nor ready that fast. It takes about a month from order place to build completion and typically another 2 weeks to ship.

I think that under normal circumstances, the numbers add up. Almost six weeks from order to complete (6/08-7/20). What makes me wonder is that the begin build dates that I have found say no way this is possible. But sales guy says it is complete. Why can't I find any 2016's available for sale anywhere on line... that actually exist and not just waiting for delivery? Has anybody taken delivery on one yet?

One guy stated he just received delivery of his '15 he ordered in late May. I think that was the cutoff for ordering, but I could be wrong. No way they are making 2016's already.

Sounds like a nice setup, the 3.92's will be great. You may want to get the spray in bed liner, the factory one is really sweet and no down time after you take delivery. N/M, I think it's standard.
