I have a 2016 Dodge Promaster 1500. Check engine light (yellow) is on and I get error P06DD. I took to my regular mechanic and changed the oil pressure sensor. Also, he changed oil and filter. The light went off for the drive home and came back on the next day. I then took it to a Dodge Dealer who thought it might be a transmission problem because there was a loss of power when the engine is still cold and also when speed is over 60 mph or so. I mentioned "limp mode" and technician didn't seem to register this condition. I ended up pulling my vehicle from the dealer as they could not come up with a diagnosis after 4 days of having the vehicle.

3.6 L Pentastar V6 is the engine.

P06DD code means engines oil pressure control circuit is stuck in a high pressure state meaning oil pressure is too high for the conditions. Often linked to a faulty oil pump but oil pressure is within range. My fear is paying $ 1,500 to change the oil pump and still having the error message and engine light on not to mention the limp mode.

Any thoughts/recommendations?

You might have better luck on the Promaster forums. If you post on them post more info, like what engine, what the code refers to,which you can find by googling it,etc.

Also, I already changed the oil and filter.

Try a new OEM sensor,it's fairly common for the oil pressure sensors to go south, but don't be cheap, suck it up and buy one from your local dealer, then google how to replace it.

No matter the brand vehicle, using the OEM for sensors is highly recommended for the best outcome.

Thank you for returning with the information on the code .
