Hey guys the last few times driving my truck I've noticed the steering wheels seems a little stiff and honestly I'm not to sure where to start. I did listen for a whine while turning the wheels in the driveway, didn't hear one. I popped the hood to check the power steering reservoir, can't find it. I'm guessing it must have electric power steering? Anyways any ideas on where to look first?

You've got electric power steering.

They do have some rudimentary self-diagnostic abilities but I don't know how to trigger that - I only know first hand that if you overheat them they will state as much in the dashboard EVIC .

I believe the steering assist is speed compensated, the faster you go the less the power steering is applied.

It feels stiff all the time. I listened for the whine in the driveway because I was going full lock in both directions listening/feeling for noise or clunks.

We certainly understand why this would be concerning, DataPak420. Please let us know via private message if you decide to address this with your dealer. So after searching I found that these are the fuses for the power steering. A little corrosion on them but what really has me concerned is the obvious heat damage to the metal around the terminals. Going to clean everything up and take for a test drive. I will post back with results later.

Does the fuse look like this:

If so it's a 125A Z-Case fuse, I have a spare as they're not to expensive but usually hard to find in stores.

Something else to check is the universal joint in the steering column going to the steering box. They've been known to bind
