While driving to work yesterday at 55mph on a country road in the pitch black dark of 5:30 am and pouring down rain the truck just completely shut down. Zero power, no headlights, power steering or engine rpms. Total black out.
I somehow managed to keep it on the road and came to a stop.
Nothing would work. Once stopped it must have went into park although I couldn't tell because all electrical was dead.
The only thing working were the hazard lights and the dome lights would come on if I opened the door.
Had to have it towed to a dealer. The driver released the parking brake with the little hidden strap next to the e-brake but the rear wheels still wouldn't roll. He had to drag it up on the flat bed.
Dealer was not able to even look at it because they could not get it in the shop and I guess have to have a special towing company come in and move it into a bay on Monday. I'm guessing the tow truck driver must have had to "shake" it off the flat bed when he arrived at the dealership.
I have never had any issues with this truck until now. Anyone have any ideas? Also the rain was pretty heavy and the roads weren't flooded but there was a lot of water on them, not enough to not be able to drive 55 mph but just throwing this out there for info.
Very disconcerting and extremely dangerous.
