Good morning Gentlemen,

I am purchasing a Ram 2500 Crew Cab with Black appearance this month, 20inch black wheels

-the truck measurement 79.9inches,
-my garage door is 80inches

-Should I lower it 1-2inches with new springs?

-Should I put a air suspension system front and back?

-Does it matter if I purchase I get the factory air suspension of should I got completely aftermarket, is there any integration between the factory OEM system?

The majority of aftermarket air suspensions are built to raise trucks for example the kelderman system

Ideally, I want to keep the factory height and be able to lower the truck with air bags into a park mode to clear my garage door

Thank you guys in Advance!!!

You do have a dilemma on your hands. I believe the air suspension on the HDs is only in the rear.

I would ask the salesman to let you test drive the truck to your house to check, and have him outside to see if it fits. If he wants to make the sell then he would do it.

The air suspension is only in the rear, for now anyways. And I think you can only raise it to level out when towing? I don't think you can lower it down like the 1500s.

It would be easier and cheaper, to just swap the springs. Someone has a 2 inch drop in the back only and it looks really good.

I forgot to add I'm aware of the current limitations of the Factory rear air suspension of only auto leveling/lowering for towing, even in this mode the front doesn't drop, I was hoping to add a front air suspension and get the drop I need without having to cut springs

the rear is higher than the front by over an inch. just worry about lowering the rear and you will fit. and if it snows a few inches DONT PULL IN until you shove. LOL been there done that,......almost done that I should say.

I installed the "REAR" Airbag kit that replaces the stock spring, it's a bolt on system so no cutting. I installed the double bellows, if I had to do it again I would do the triple bellows. Triple bellows should require less psi for the same height and therfore should ride smoother than stock. The double I installed required rancho sdjustable shocks to get the ride back to stock. This is where you can get it.

Another option is kelderman, but very expensive.

Thank you, I like the Kelderman systems but I haven't found any installed without the additional lift that comes with them. I'm talking to kelderman now via email.
