Hello,

I have a 2016 Ram Big Horn with the latest update to Uconnect. No Apple CarPlay In this model year.
Before I upgraded to an iPhone 14 (had a 13), audio used to work just fine through the Bluetooth connection (except for one thing; more on that later). This is with the radio on. Text messages worked fine and audio from Google Maps would play through the speakers. Apple Maps audio never worked.
After the upgrade to an iPhone 14 (and of course an update to iOS 16) text messages quit working through the Bluetooth connection. Google maps audio still works. Apple Maps audio still doesn’t work. Anybody have any ideas how to fix this? It is fixable?

Thanks

When you paired your new phone (14) did it ask you all the regular questions/permissions it does. Maybe check in your Bluetooth settings on your phone to see what it allowed to be sent Bluetooth wise. (Click the connect and then check what is sent)

Yes I did. If I delete the pairing then re-pair it, it seems to work for a while, then stops working again.
However, nothing I do seems to fix the TEXT not working problem.
Thanks

I think in setting on the radio somewhere is an option to enable the text messages to be read. I had same issue when I upgraded to newer iPhone. I don’t remember exactly where I went to make the change.

Did you figure it out? I had problems when I first got my 2016 Rebel. I had to go into my iPhones Bluetooth settings, scroll down to Uconnect and click on the (i) then on the right top click on allow notifications and my text messages worked. Hope this helps if you are still having problems.

Went through every setting in the radio and could find nothing relating to text messages.

Thanks for the ‘directions’ WRT the Bluetooth settings. I did not have that switch turned on. Now it is. I’ll check if it worked tomorrow.

THANKS!

Good luck, drove me crazy looking for that. Somehow it got turned off all by itself a couple days after I got her and I couldn’t understand why it just stopped working. Something so simple Let me know if that’s what it was

So it doesn’t work for me at all. In fact, this morning Apple Maps audio didn’t work, which it had a few days ago. I un-paired and re-paired the iPhone and at least that started working. If I select Messaging in Uconnect‘s BT/Phone settings I get an error message. See pic.

/edit/. Wanted to take one more pic of the Uconnect screen and when I got everything connected, it all appeared to be working? Can’t explain it. I hate sporadic problems like this!

Attached are pics of the Uconnect screen and my iPhone BT settings screen. Are yours the same?
1) Uconnect error message
2) my iPhone BT screen
3) Uconnect screen after it all seems to be ok

Thanks
Dan
