As specified in my thread title I am considering jumping from 2016 Tundra Platinum (with TONS of after market crap I am going to eat in the trade) over to a new Black 2019 RAM Limited. Anyone on this forum come from a Tundra over to RAM with any insight? I have test driven the vehicle and obviously it is different level of comfort and amenities; just wanted to hear from any other folks who have moved from Tundra to RAM and their thoughts? Same reliability?

I'm on my 3rd ram and love it except for the air suspension in this Longhorn, I'll never order another vehicle with air ride. Truck is currently in the shop for the 4th time and now FCA is involved. Some members have it and never had any issues, they love. Some like me have nothing only headache's

I personally would wait for the 2020 MY. First of all, I am beginning to grow extremely fond of the 2019, which I didn't like first. I especially like it with the sport hood. I love the interiors. But, I have found that buying the first year of a new vehicle is not extremely wise because of the number of issues that you get.
That gives them a MY, over a year to get everything right. Good luck!

This was my number one concern; I read about SOME issues with the new 12 inch UConnect system where the OEM/dealer was unable to resolve; also read about SOME folks experiencing leaking issues with their trucks; again could all be attributed to new MY jitters and have to get ironed out. I am doing tons of research and will continue to monitor reviews/feedback on this truck!

Its pretty much common knowledge among RAM folks that the air suspension and cold weather definitely don't work well together so I would avoid it at all costs if I were you. Being that the Tundra has leafs in the back the RAM will ride like a Cadillac. The RAMs 8spd automatic is also much better than the Toyotas 6spd auto.

The Ram is light years ahead of the Tundra in every way. Unless you live in Canada or somewhere very northern the air suspension will be fine, I love it on mine. MY2020 is pretty far away. I have a June built ‘19 with very little issues. 12” has had several updates and no recent bugs or hiccups. No leak issues, even then that’s a easy seal fix. Go test drive one and don’t look back.

Just pulled the trigger; picked up a 2019 RAM LIMITED Black/Black with tons of options. Pick it up Sunday! Cannot wait!

I can't wait to hear your feedback. Especially about the ride quality. And the handling. And the cabin quietness. And the electronics. And, and, and...

Should be good.

Congrats on the new Limited. I’ll bet you’re glancing around the interior and wondering whose Mercedes you’re sitting in.

I have been enjoying my 2019 Limited since June of this year. Came from a 2016 Ram 2500 CTD which I loved but didn't need anymore due to stopping towing. I love the ride of this new truck! It has the air ride and it rides much better than my wifes Mercury Mountaineer. I also really like the interior (black) and all the little touches that the Limited series provides. Have had no problems with the 12in U-connect except it freezes occasionally when zoomed out but resumes when zoomed back in. Dealer has no fix yet. This is a very comfortable truck to take a long trip in. The cabin is quiet, the Sirius radio sounds great, I can make/take phone calls easily, seat heat and cool works fine, and the seats are very comfortable. Although I loved my CTD, this Hemi makes a lot of power and sounds great! It will also probably be a lot better for use in the cold Michigan winters that we will now have to endure. I'm glad I made the trade.

Yup, my buddy bought a 2018 Rebel....beautiful truck. He loves it.....except the air suspension....crapped out at only 1200 miles.

Granted I only have about 200 miles on this truck at this time and have had the vehicle for a little under a week; but figured I would provide my first thoughts. First and foremost, this TRUCK is an amazing vehicle. The overall ride and interior comfort and technical features are just INCREDIBLE! Coming from a 2016 Toyota Tundra Platinum this truck is like stepping into a space ship when it comes to technology and overall ride comfort.

Quick summary of features I have gained by going to RAM from the Tundra (Tundra owners pay attention here):

Heated Back Seats

Automatic Step rails (retractable)

12 Inch LCD (customizable and split screen)

Automatic Parallel Parking

Lane Assist / Adjustable Cruise Control (newer Tundras have this now)

Automatic Seat/Steering Wheel Heater when it is under 40 degrees

Truck Air Suspension (automatic in certain conditions)

Starting Truck from my Phone (Andriod Auto/UConnect) I am a tech geek

Usable LCD on dashboard (& customizable)

Overall interior noise reduction during driving (highway noise reduction)

Extension middle compartment options (Tundra was just big empty box in middle)

Multiple USB/USB 3.0 & Regular PLUG connections (Tundra had 2 cigarette connections in front and 1 USB)

I would say the only feature the Tundra has the RAM is lacking is power adjusting steering wheel; on the RAM this is a manual function (but HOW often is this modified).

I am not here to bash Toyota Tundra by any means; they are extremely SOLID trucks and have proven dependability and I enjoyed my 2.5 years in that vehicle. We enjoy 30K miles on many family trips and the 38-gallon gas tank was very nice and also emptied as fast as any of the V8 trucks! My new RAM does have the upgraded 33-gallon tank which was one of my MUST HAVES during the purchase process. I am just here to convey that the new RAM (granted I only have 200 miles on it) is extremely fun to drive, very comfortable, looks amazing and I am looking forward too many miles/years on the road with this Truck! It is also seeming to get a lot of attention on the road but maybe it is because it is so clean (right now).

Looking forward to using this forum to learn more about this truck and any issues that might arise down the road; fingers crossed that is limited.
