Well I started the last couple of weeks just doing a simple thuren spring and shock leveling kit and ended up needing to replace a whole lot more. I knew I had a bad ball joint on the passenger side that I started to replace but found a bad u-joint also. Truck felt as if it was in 4wd when you turned the wheel in either direction. As they say u might as well do both sides if your going to do one so I ordered all new ball joints, u-joints and hubs for both sides and had to replace a rotor that was froze to the hub.
I’m not upset that it all had to be done but when it rains it pours and the truck drives much better just a little lighter in the wallet. Lol

Oh and I didn’t do all the work. Didn’t have the correct tools to do the u-joints so I Had it done at a shop.

Wow. How many miles are on the truck? Has it been exposed to deep standing water for extended periods, a bunch of water crossings or anything that might accelerate the wear?

My previous 2013 PW was up over 75k miles before it's front wheel bearings required replacement. But that truck was frequently subjected to countless water crossings, shore launching of boats and several nights spent with wet goop over the hubs / U-Joints, etc. after some spectacular "stuck and unrecoverable" events.

Then currently, my 2018 may be experiencing a bad joint/bearing that has yet to be clearly diagnosed. But, it has been babied compared to the other truck, and only has 49k miles on it. So I am curious.

I've owned 3 RAMs that I bought new,and all 3 needed a front wheel bearing replaced before 20k
One only lasted 7k
You get some good ones that last forever, and you get some that don't
The OP is in Ohio, and I'm in Massachussetts,so ****** roads and salt in winter are the norm, which take their toll on steering parts

I did buy it used so no idea the abuse it has gone thru and currently has 115k on it. I knew when I bought it would need some maintenance done to it. As for the hubs they were done just because I was going as far as the u-joints anyway so I did them now.

Just unlucky
First and third trucks I bought new,the second truck was used with 10k on it,but came from oilfield service
All 3 were found while getting my yearly state inspection at an independent shop, then I took it to the dealer to get replaced under warranty
After warranty ended,when I needed a bearing replaced,I got Dynatrac no-spin kits
