I brought the truck in for a service and upon inspection they said the middle driveshaft bushing was worn and should be replaced, they called back and said i should also do the middle u joint. All was good for about a week then a bad vibration at 26-32mph developed. My neighbor looked at the driveshaft and noticed one of the circle clips on the new u joint had come off and the ujoint was working its way out. We tapped it back in and drove it to the shop(no vibration). They installed a clip and i was good for another week, then same thing but vibration was not as severe. Check clips on all u joints and they were in place. Took it back the shop and they said they would replace the ujoint again. Got it bac, good for a week, then the vibration came back, same speed range. They checked it all out and did not see anything obvious but are going to replace all u joints. I'm not sure they are on the right path. It seems anytime that middle U joint is addressed, all vibrations go away, for a week or so. Any thoughts??

Did they by any chance end up rotating one of the driveshafts so they are no longer in the same position as they were originally? Is the centre carrier/bushing actually in good shape and the proper part. If it doesn't fit right it will wear the U-Joint prematurely. You can mount a camera under there and take a video of it while driving.

That's kind of what I was thinking, maybe wrong carrier installed causing failure of the u joint. Or could be the driveshaft alignment. They are replacing the other u joints, I don't think that will help

If the new ujoints don't solve the problem you will need to take it to a good driveline shop. They will need to remove the drive shafts and check the balance weights and spin the drive shafts removed from the vehicle to make sure they are properly balanced and weighted.

Got it back, vibration gone for now. They said they did not touch the middle U but replaced the other two, we shall see......
