You know the wix one is cheap, and guys do report good result eventhough it doesnt have that pin hole vent. 73 is kinda steep, especially if you are tossing the canister filter. 35 bucks not bad.

Personally, I use gasket maker as well, personal choice.

I think the wix option has been decent, but I wouldnt use the no name stuff, read the reviews, some are real bad. Havent heard any issues mopar.

Cool story, good to see someone be in a good position to help out your pops. It's the least you can do seeing that he gave you life, lol.
I really didn't need it at the time. 3rd car. He needed a good truck and that is what he got. Its served our family well.

Is that the ZF 6 speed ? If so, do not use anything with dyes in it. The seals on the valves will start sticking. I talked to several of the engineers there in the transmission department and they all said the same thing. Stay away from dyes.
With that said.
I have 202k on my ram 8 speed. Just got it replaces and serviced with a trans that had 70k on it. All together with installation and warranty costed me 1900$

Ram never used a 6spd ZF. 545RFE 65RFE (same trans) and the 8HP are the only trans that have been in a 1500 Ram in the last 20 years (SRT10 not withstanding)
